Comprendo Privacy Policy

Privacy is important. We respect yours. Our goal is to do more than we have to by law - we want to earn your trust with your data.

We may use this information to fight abuse; to personalize Comprendo Services; or to generate aggregate, non-identifying information about how people use Comprendo Services. We may keep such aggregated non-identifiable information without limitation.

California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, California Civil Code grants you certain rights. To make such a request, please contact us.

  1. the right to correct inaccurate personal information;
  2. the right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information

  4. the right to delete personal information collected;
  5. the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (if applicable);
  6. the right to opt-in to the sale of personal information;
  7. the right to non-discriminatory treatment for exercising any rights; and
  8. the right to initiate a private cause of action for data breaches.

Response to Requests

When you ask us to exercise any of your rights under this policy and the applicable law, unless you make the request from the account’s administrative owner, we may need to ask you to provide us certain credentials to make sure that you are who you claim you are, to avoid disclosure to you of personal information related to others and to ask you questions to better understand the nature and scope of data that you request to access.

Email from Comprendo

Sometimes we’ll send administrative emails about account or service changes, or new policies. You can’t opt out of them.

We won’t email you to ask for your password or other account information. If you receive such an email, send it to us so we can investigate.

Disclosure of your information

We don’t share your personal information outside the company except as provided in this Policy. We won’t sell your personal information.

We may share your personal information with third parties in limited circumstances, including: (1) with your consent; (2) when we have a good faith belief it is required by law, such as pursuant to a subpoena or other legal process, and (3) third parties who help us process your data. These third parties include Saleforce, Inc.’s Heroku service and OpenAI, Inc.’s ChatGPT service.

If we’re going to share your information in response to legal process, we’ll give you advance notice so you can challenge it (for example by seeking court intervention), unless we’re prohibited from doing so by law or court order. We will object to requests for information about users of our site that we believe to be improper.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies such as local storage to recognize you when you return to our Services. We use them in various ways, for example to log you in, remember your preferences (such as default language), and evaluate email effectiveness.

Some third-party services that we use, such as Google Analytics, may place their own cookies in your browser. This Privacy Policy covers use of cookies by Comprendo only and not the use of cookies by third parties.

Data Storage

Comprendo uses third-party vendors and hosting partners, such as Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services, for hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology we need to run Comprendo. We may retain samples of your data for short periods of time in order to improve our services.

Modifying or deleting your information

We retain different types of information for different periods, depending on the purposes for processing the information, our legitimate business purposes as well as pursuant to legal requirements under the applicable law.

If you have a Comprendo account, you can access and modify your personal information, or delete your account by contacting us.

To protect information from accidental or malicious destruction, we may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems.

We may need to keep personal information for as long as necessary to support the purposes of processing under this policy and for additional legitimate business purposes, for example, for record-keeping, for cyber-security management purposes, legal proceedings, and tax issues.

If you delete your account, your account and content may be unrecoverable.

Data security

We use encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect data transmitted to and from our site. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we can’t guarantee security. You use the Service at your own risk, and you’re responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account (like using a strong password).

Comprendo may periodically update this Policy. We’ll notify you about significant changes to it. The most current version of the policy will always be here and we will archive former versions of the policy.
